Position Overview

(Remote position available for California residents)

Under the guidance of the Coding Supervisor, the Coding Auditor and Educator is responsible for ensuring that coding practices are precise and substantiated by clinical documentation within health records. This role also involves educating our teams on best practices to enhance compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with both retrospective and concurrent coding for PACE Dual participants.
  • Conduct thorough pre-visit chart preparations and post-visit chart evaluations.
  • Lead audits and engage in provider education initiatives to ensure adherence to CMS risk adjustment diagnosis coding guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Coding Supervisor to identify opportunities for enhancing HCC coding education.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Associate's Degree; three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience or a combination of healthcare education and experience in coding and auditing.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Risk Adjustment (HCC) coding within a managed care setting.
  • Current credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CPMA, or CRC are required.
  • Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Experience applying M.E.A.T. concepts accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Salary range for this position is $67,829.78—$81,395.73 annually, plus bonus and equity. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes 401k matching, healthcare coverage, and a wide array of additional benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
