Medix is in search of a diligent and detail-focused Healthcare Billing Specialist to become a part of our dedicated healthcare team. The main duty of the Healthcare Billing Specialist will involve managing a significant volume of claims submissions and addressing any billing discrepancies that may arise. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, a comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and coding, along with expertise in medical billing software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and submit claims to insurance providers and other payers
- Verify and review patient billing details for precision and thoroughness
- Follow up on outstanding claims within the standard billing cycle
- Investigate and challenge denied claims when necessary
- Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts
- Address billing inquiries and resolve billing issues for patients
- Ensure confidentiality of patient and financial data
- Keep abreast of healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and administrative personnel to enhance billing procedures
- Generate necessary reports on billing activities as required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in FQHC Medical Billing, or 2+ years in Medical Billing claims submission
- Must demonstrate comfort and respect when working with the LGBTQ+ community
