Daily Responsibilities of a Commercial Vehicle Operator: A Commercial Vehicle Operator is tasked with the safe operation of a commercial truck to transport goods between locations. They travel long distances while adhering to stringent federal and state regulations that govern commercial vehicle operation. This includes compliance with hours of service regulations, maintaining vehicle standards, and ensuring adherence to rest periods. Furthermore, operators with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) are trained in safe driving techniques. Depending on the organization, they may also be responsible for loading and unloading, inspecting cargo for damage, and completing necessary documentation.

Required Qualifications:
  • A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) of the appropriate class with Passenger (P) endorsement.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in commercial vehicle operation, ideally with over-the-road (OTR) and local routes.
  • A clean driving history with no moving violations.
  • The ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
  • Proficiency in using GPS technology and adhering to road and transport regulations.
  • Capability to drive safely under various weather and time conditions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • A friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Attention to detail.

Educational Background:
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
