Role Summary:

The Class A CDL Heavy Haul Driver plays a crucial role in the safe transportation of heavy equipment to various job sites. This position requires adherence to local, state, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations while ensuring that all equipment is securely loaded and delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute delivery routes based on load specifications, including weight and dimensions.
  • Participate in mandatory drug and alcohol testing as per U.S. Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and securements to ensure safety.
  • Manage weight distribution effectively across trailers and axles.
  • Obtain necessary permits for oversized loads from management prior to transport.
  • Report any vehicle or equipment issues to management immediately to maintain operational safety.
  • Ensure all required documentation is present for each vehicle operated.
  • Label and placard vehicles appropriately for the loads being transported.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least two years of experience operating tractor-trailer flatbed combinations.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service regulations for property hauling.
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL from the state of residence.
  • Current DOT medical certification required.
  • No disqualifying traffic violations as defined by FMCSA.
