Compensation: $28.00 to $35.00 Per Hour.

Position Summary:
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the HR Director and HR Business Partners in executing various HR functions while maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive company and employee information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive HR support to business units in a multi-state and multi-location setting.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Oversee various HR functions, including employee data management, job descriptions, performance evaluations, and employee leave processes (STD/LTD, FMLA).
  • Engage in business partnership activities to enhance the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Advise employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Generate and distribute standard and customized reports to communicate essential information and follow-up requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine standard templates and presentation materials.
  • Assist in the administration of annual open enrollment programs and address benefits-related inquiries.
  • Manage certification awards and performance incentive programs to ensure timely processing for eligible employees.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to the design and implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Work closely with the HR Director to disseminate information about new programs and events to staff.

Work Environment:
The role primarily involves working in an office setting, with occasional visits to operational areas. Caution is advised when handling office supplies, and there may be infrequent exposure to plant-related hazards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant HR experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in advanced PC skills, particularly in spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, organizational development, and HRIS systems (PeopleSoft preferred).
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of labor unions and union avoidance strategies is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, organization, and time management skills.

Certifications:
PHR/SPHR or other HR certifications are preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, and communicate. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Travel may be necessary to support business operations.
