Position Overview

NexJ Health is seeking a part-time US Wellness Consultant who possesses a deep commitment to health and wellness. In this role, the US Wellness Consultant will engage with clients to facilitate health behavior modifications through our innovative digital health platform, NexJ Connected Wellness.

This position requires flexibility in working hours and participation in weekly supervision and training sessions. All interactions with clients and training will be conducted remotely within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to assist clients in achieving their personal health objectives.
  • Oversee a client roster and deliver timely health behavior change counseling via our digital platform, NexJ Connected Wellness.
  • Engage with clients through secure messaging, phone calls, and video conferencing.
  • Document accurate chart notes promptly.
  • Safeguard confidential information.
  • Contribute to the creation of educational health materials covering topics such as exercise, nutrition, and goal setting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Kinesiology.
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM - CEP).
  • National Board Certification as a Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
  • Proof of professional liability insurance.
  • Proficient with technology and capable of learning new applications as required.
  • Experience in a hospital, health clinic, university, or private healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work with a diverse age range of clients, including those with chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
  • Trained in coaching methodologies such as Motivational Interviewing, goal setting, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems, and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with clients facing mental health challenges is a plus.
  • Multilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish and French, are advantageous.
