Key Responsibilities- Service designated areas with a company vehicle and necessary equipment provided.
- Conduct thorough loss control assessments and physical inspections of commercial accounts:
- Deliver accurate descriptions of the physical and operational aspects of insured entities to underwriters.
- Identify hazards and potential loss exposures, providing recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Consult with underwriters and other team members regarding account acceptability, exposures, and controls relevant to various lines of business.
- Assist underwriters with account operations, exposures, construction, and protective measures.
- Conduct investigations into accidents and analyze losses to determine root causes.
- Utilize effective communication and sales skills to ensure compliance with recommendations and provide safety training to insured parties.
- Participate in joint marketing presentations alongside Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing teams to accounts and agents.
- Maintain expert knowledge of company policies and procedures, as well as relevant Federal, State, and other applicable codes and regulations concerning Property, Liability, and Casualty lines of coverage.
- Provide technical guidance, support, and training to junior staff members.
- May oversee the work of others, including mentoring, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and reviewing assignments.
- May be involved in performance management and coaching of staff, participating in decisions regarding talent selection and development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Field of Study: Safety, Engineering, Insurance, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of relevant experience. Certification in a chosen area of expertise is advantageous; appropriate certifications may include Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Associate Risk Management (ARM), Certified Safety and Health Management (CSHMS), Associate Loss Control Management (ALCM), or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).
Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and based on role, level, and location. Individual pay considers various factors, including skills, education, training, licensure, certifications, experience, and the role's scope and complexity. In addition to base compensation, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package, which includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
