Key Responsibilities
  • Servicing designated areas with a company vehicle and necessary equipment provided.
  • Conducting loss control assessments and physical inspections of commercial accounts:
    • Delivering precise descriptions of the physical and operational characteristics of insured entities to underwriters.
    • Identifying hazards and potential loss exposures, offering recommendations to mitigate or eliminate risks.
    • Consulting with underwriters and staff regarding account acceptability, exposures, and controls relevant to various business lines.
    • Assisting underwriters and staff concerning account operations, exposures, construction, and protective measures.
    • Performing accident investigations and loss analyses to determine underlying causes.
    • Utilizing effective sales and communication skills to ensure compliance with recommendations and providing safety training to insured parties.
    • Participating in joint marketing presentations alongside Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing teams to clients and agents.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of company manuals, procedures, and applicable Federal, State, and other relevant codes and regulations concerning Property, Liability, and Casualty insurance.
  • Providing technical guidance, support, and training to junior staff members.
  • Possibly leading the work of others, including mentoring, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and reviewing assignments.
  • May have responsibilities related to performance management and coaching of staff, including involvement in talent selection and development decisions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Field of Study: Safety, Engineering, Insurance, Business, or a related discipline.

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of relevant experience. Certification in the chosen area of expertise is advantageous; relevant certifications may include Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Associate Risk Management (ARM), Certified Safety and Health Management (CSHMS), Associate Loss Control Management (ALCM), or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).

Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive Total Rewards package is also offered, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
