Role Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will be integral to a collaborative healthcare model, working alongside residents, fellows, attending physicians, and nursing staff to provide exceptional outpatient care. This position operates under the guidance of the Medical Director or designated physician, collaborating with Patient Care Coordinators, nursing staff, and discharge planners to ensure comprehensive medical and nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary and urgent medical management, ensuring emergency stabilization for critically ill patients.
  • Engage in the education of residents, medical students, and nursing staff, fostering professional development.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care strategies.
  • Provide thorough patient education and assist in discharge planning.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Medicine or Health Sciences, or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.
  • Required: Master's degree in Nursing.

Experience:

  • Required: None.
  • Preferred: Three years of relevant experience.

Certifications:

  • Required: Current Physician Assistant license in the state of practice, NCCPA certification, and BCLS/ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Required: Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice, with certification as a Family or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Windows applications and relevant software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
  • Ability to travel between facilities as required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting and moving objects, standing for extended periods, and performing tasks that may involve exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materials.
