Work Schedule: Overnight 1: Sunday to Wednesday, from 12 am to 8 am. Overnight 2: Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 am to 8 am.

This role is dedicated to assisting low-income youth and young adults facing challenges such as foster care, homelessness, school disconnection, and juvenile justice involvement. The aim is to empower these individuals with the necessary skills for independent living. The position involves providing tailored support in areas such as education, job readiness, housing, and more. Building strong community partnerships and offering comprehensive information and referral services are key components of this role.

This position is situated within the Social Impact Center, the social services division of this non-profit organization. The mission is to assist young individuals in constructing safe, successful, and fulfilling lives. Annually, the organization serves approximately 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families throughout the region. The programs are designed to mitigate risk factors, navigate complex systems, ensure stability and wellness, and enhance competencies and social capital. Services provided include housing assistance, behavioral health support, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized services in education, employment, housing, and related fields to help youth and young adults reach their objectives.
  • Create individualized, strengths-based service plans tailored to each participant.
  • Ensure compliance with contract and grant requirements to meet program outcome expectations.
  • Conduct research on best practices and maintain a specialized resource library.
  • Document participant interactions and progress clearly and professionally in databases.
  • Facilitate life skills and job readiness training in both individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to design and implement engaging activities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with funding liaisons, service providers, businesses, and educational institutions.
  • Support participants in achieving success in housing, connections to supportive adults, education, employment, health, and life skills.
  • May oversee volunteers, interns, or national service members.
  • Engage in the annual fundraising campaign.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents or young adults in relevant areas (employment, foster care, housing, education, juvenile justice, mental health, etc.).
  • Ability to teach independence skills and organize supportive activities.
  • Strong skills in engagement and relationship-building with youth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Capability to transport oneself and clients safely; proof of vehicle insurance is required or the ability to travel to areas lacking public transportation.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Current training in HIV bloodborne pathogens (to be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Preferred knowledge of diverse populations; multilingual skills are advantageous.
