About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Development Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. As a key member of our Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for elementary age students to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Program Activities: Develop and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities that align with the YMCA's Youth Development goals.
  • Supervise and Support Children: Ensure the health and safety of children in your care, while providing a positive experience for each child.
  • Communicate with Parents and Guardians: Professionally communicate day-to-day, confidential, and evaluative information with parents and guardians.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, décor, and cleanliness.
  • Prepare and Serve Snacks: Prepare and serve snacks, while ensuring a clean and safe snack area.
Requirements
  • Age and Experience: 16 years of age or older, with 1-2 years of experience working with children.
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of minimum STARS required training and CPR/First Aid training.
  • Background Check: Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT.
