:
Accountable for delivering professional nursing care to clinic patients in accordance with established standards and protocols. Collaborates with physicians and staff to facilitate patient care. Acts as the primary communication link between patients, staff, and physicians.

Reports to the Clinical Supervisor or Physician.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
:
May oversee clinical staff within the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in line with nursing standards. Maintains examination rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness. Prepares a list of required medical supplies. Assists physicians during patient treatment, examination, and testing, including phlebotomy as assigned.
Observes, documents, and communicates patients' conditions and responses to medications and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medications as directed. Educates patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
Ensures that patients in emergency situations receive priority for appointments. Welcomes patients and prepares them for physician examinations. Screens patients for relevant information. Guides patients in the collection of samples and tests.
Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other essential information. Posts test results and examination findings.
Responds to and refers incoming patient treatment-related inquiries. Instructs patients and families regarding medications and treatment protocols. Prepares prescriptions as assigned.
Clerical duties may encompass the preparation of forms, letters, etc.
Responsible for compliance with OSHA regulations.
Upholds patient confidentiality.
Coordinates with staff for cross-training initiatives. Assists in training other staff on clinical equipment and procedures as appropriate. The jobholder must demonstrate competencies relevant to the position.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
:
RN degree, BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
:
A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience, with clinic experience preferred.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
:
Must maintain a valid RN license for the state of North Carolina.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
:
Familiarity with professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices to provide and assess patient care.
Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions to ensure a safe working environment.
Ability to apply and adapt the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to deliver ongoing patient care.
Skill in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
Competence in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
Ability to uphold quality control standards.
Capability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Proficient communication skills.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
:
A combination of office and examination settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions typical of a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
:
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are essential. Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work under stressful conditions or during irregular hours.
