As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will engage in a diverse range of laboratory assessments, utilizing various methodologies and expert judgment. Your responsibilities will encompass testing in areas such as Blood Banking, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Conduct laboratory tests with precision, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols to deliver accurate results that support clinical decision-making.
- Have comprehensive access to patient health records to facilitate effective testing and analysis.
- Possibly manage access to medication storage areas as necessary for your duties, excluding controlled substances.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Medical Technologist: A minimum of sixty semester hours of college education with completion of a certified Medical Technology training program. Current registration or eligibility with ASCP or AMT is required.
- Medical Laboratory Technician: An associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and registration or eligibility with ASCP or AMT.
- For registered candidates, it is essential to maintain an up-to-date registry before expiration.
- Ability to perform a full range of physical activities, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended durations. Must be capable of lifting and transporting items weighing up to 30 pounds.
