The role involves assisting in the identification of students with frequent absences or tardiness. The position requires collaboration with parents and school administrators, documentation of efforts to enhance student attendance, and the compilation of reports as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with local agencies and authorities to implement initiatives aimed at improving student attendance.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations related to child welfare and attendance, including state laws and district policies.
  • Compile attendance reports and document efforts to enhance student attendance.
  • Review student records and coordinate with relevant departments for necessary adjustments.
  • Engage with the community to promote attendance and accurately communicate district policies and regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between schools and the central Office of Attendance.
  • Facilitate communication between schools, parents, and local authorities.
  • Conduct home visits and document outcomes.
  • Issue legal notifications in accordance with state laws.
  • Collaborate with staff to prevent student dropouts.
  • Provide recommendations to relevant agencies as per guidelines.
  • Participate in the School Attendance Committee.
  • Assist with all attendance-related functions as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours across the district.
