The Lead Educational Intervention Coordinator at Bellefaire JCB is entrusted with the vital role of guiding students in a designated subject area or educational program, ensuring the delivery of exceptional instruction in both individual and small group environments.

This position collaborates within a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for executing tailored educational strategies for each student and class, which includes: Engaging in the development and execution of each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Crafting lesson plans for small groups and/or individual sessions based on recent diagnostic assessments, while considering the student's strengths and challenges and employing suitable learning and teaching methods. As the case manager, orchestrate and facilitate IEP meetings, which may involve school district representatives, parents, and other invited stakeholders. Maintain and update documentation as necessary. In all instructional settings, oversee each student in class and provide general supervision throughout the day. Lead parent engagement meetings. Assess the performance of associate educators and instructional aides on the team, including administering disciplinary actions when necessary, and completing annual performance evaluations. Contribute to the hiring, disciplinary, and termination processes for associate educators and instructional aides, and participate in addressing any grievances filed by them. Assign and effectively direct associate educators and instructional aides in their duties and responsibilities. Intervention Coordinators must remain vigilant regarding safety considerations in both the classroom and the broader school environment. Report incidents to the Behavior Supervisor and ensure incident reports are finalized by the end of the school day. Collaborate with Agency Facilities and/or Safety personnel to implement fire and safety protocols. Educators are responsible for instructing students on fire and safety procedures. Responsible for drafting progress reports that summarize collected data and reflect IEP progress on established goals and objectives. Quarterly progress reports will be generated throughout the academic year. Oversee lesson planning and provide guidance to associate educators and instructional aides working with assigned students. Facilitate weekly team meetings that focus on individual students, classroom curriculum, behavior management, and team organization. Responsible for data collection for all assigned students as well as weekly data input.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in professional development activities, including training sessions and workshops throughout the academic year as part of the staff development program. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training. All required training, certifications, and licensure must be maintained in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards. Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical records through the timely completion of assigned documentation in compliance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards. Uphold client confidentiality and handle all information obtained during client treatment with discretion. All client-related documents should be managed according to Agency guidelines on confidential materials. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree+ Licensure:+ Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist Teaching License for Lead Educational Intervention Coordinator. Valid Non-Tax Teaching Certificate for Lead Educator. Current appropriate Ohio Department of Education license for area of specialty.

  • And/Or Willingness to obtain alternative pathway licenses Skills:

Demonstrated sensitivity in engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and the ability to collaborate with varied groups of people possessing different strengths, aptitudes, and abilities.

Ability to execute job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
Exemplary oral and written communication skills along with effective interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to fulfill essential job functions.
Practical and innovative problem-solving skills.

  • Experience:
A combination of education, training, and/or experience in working with children on the autism spectrum.
