About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager for Rail Operations to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our rail services, ensuring the highest level of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the performance of all Key Management Personnel, as well as subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Direct reports management, who in-turn oversee management, technical, administrative, and exempt staff.
  • Establish and maintain meaningful key performance metrics, monitor and make decisions based on facts and trends.
  • Develop and establish programs, practices, standards and procedures for passenger safety, rule adherence, operating schedules, and training.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction, or related field-or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of broad and deep, progressively responsible experience covering most facets of railroad operations, maintenance, engineering, contract, and project management.
  • At least eight years in a Senior Management/Leadership capacity for a FRA Regulated, Class 1 or Commuter Railroad with territory, service, complexity, and challenges.
  • Knowledge of contract and project management within a railroad environment.
  • Familiarity with labor relations and collective bargaining environments.
