Site Operations and Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:
Ameresco is seeking an experienced Site Operations and Maintenance Manager to oversee the East O&M team. This role is pivotal in managing the daily functions of O&M Technicians, ensuring the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of equipment. The Site Manager will guarantee that all machinery is maintained in line with contractual obligations and will address any issues that arise promptly. Collaboration within a team-oriented environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and supervision of site O&M staff, including daily task assignments, recruitment, scheduling, time management, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee all aspects of operations and maintenance, including planning and scheduling activities to ensure the safe and economical operation, servicing, repair, and overhaul of plant equipment while troubleshooting operational challenges.
- Manage procurement of necessary materials and maintain required inventory levels.
- Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and environmental standards.
- Generate reports, work orders, and related documentation in accordance with Ameresco O&M contracts and client specifications.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience with industrial, utility, or marine energy systems, including boilers, steam systems, HVAC, pumps, control valves, instrumentation, electrical systems, and water chemistry.
- Additional education may substitute for relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including effective coaching and mentoring.
- Extensive knowledge of electric power plant operations and maintenance.
- Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulations affecting plant operations.
- Understanding of relevant policies, procedures, work practices, and labor agreements.
- Knowledge of budget development and management.
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in PC, Internet, and related software applications.
- Willingness to work extended hours to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities.
