Job Summary

The Manager-on-Duty role at our Windsor Locks, CT location involves overseeing supervisory personnel within assigned warehouse or ramp functional areas. This includes directing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will also act as a liaison between first-level supervisors and upper management, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the sorting, scanning, and movement of packages and containers in both warehouse and ramp environments.
  • Analyze and interpret WFS policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and customers.
  • Identify and resolve problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions to drive business decisions.
  • Operate warehouse/ramp equipment and hold necessary licensing (if applicable).
  • Perform specific responsibilities related to your shift.
Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two to five years of previous management/specialist supervisory experience in a warehouse/logistics/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading teams of personnel.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and days off.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous logistics, manufacturing, warehousing experience.
  • Familiarity with personal computer software.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
