Position Overview:

Are you passionate about enhancing the experiences of millions through innovative backend solutions in financial services? Our Digital Capability team is seeking experienced engineers dedicated to creating user-friendly, customer-centric applications that drive Fidelity's web and mobile platforms.

This team is responsible for modernizing and developing Mainframe backend systems that support Fidelity's extensive digital footprint. You will play a key role in designing and implementing reusable Mainframe applications focused on customer needs while improving quality and deployment methodologies. Collaboration with business, operations, and systems partners is essential to enable new capabilities, adapt to regulatory changes, and address the intricate requirements of our clientele. As part of an agile, cross-functional team, you will contribute throughout the entire development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.

In this role, you will have the chance to share your technical expertise, fostering growth within our engineering community while advancing your own knowledge in modernizing mainframe platforms.

Essential Qualifications:

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience using Java or a comparable programming language.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Relational Databases and SQL, such as PostgreSQL.
  • Proficient in NoSQL Databases, including DynamoDB or MongoDB.
  • Experience with Message Brokers and their design patterns, such as SQS or RabbitMQ.
  • Proven ability to deploy applications in a cloud environment, particularly AWS.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of designing and developing cloud-native solutions, especially on AWS.

Leadership Attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex end-to-end solutions.
  • Proven track record in managing technical programs within a Scrum Agile Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate efforts and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience in mentoring fellow engineers and enhancing their skill sets.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and develop a thorough understanding of those systems.
