The Digital Capability team is dedicated to modernizing and enhancing our Mainframe backend systems, which are vital to supporting our extensive digital operations. You will play a key role in designing and implementing reusable Mainframe applications that prioritize customer experience while ensuring optimal quality and deployment methodologies. Collaboration with business units, operational teams, and systems partners will be essential to facilitate new business capabilities, adapt to regulatory changes, and modernize our technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from initial concept through to deployment, as part of an agile, cross-functional team.
- Utilize your technical expertise to mentor and uplift fellow engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Contribute to the enhancement of our engineering community by sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Minimum of 8 years of software development experience using Java or a comparable programming language.
- Strong proficiency in Relational Databases and SQL, with experience in PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL Databases, such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Message Brokers and their design patterns, including SQS or RabbitMQ.
- Experience deploying applications in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native solution design and development, especially within AWS.
Leadership Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to oversee the delivery of complex, end-to-end solutions.
- Experience managing technical programs within a Scrum Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Effective communication skills to coordinate efforts and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven track record of guiding and enhancing the capabilities of fellow engineers.
- Adept at navigating complex environments and developing a comprehensive understanding of intricate systems.
