Position Summary:
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for creating and deploying applications utilizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and technical tools such as Maven, Jenkins, UDeploy, Docker, GIT, and gitflow. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining both SOAP and RESTful services using Java with the Spring Boot framework. The position also focuses on crafting and implementing innovative automated testing solutions, overseeing the deployment of system features, and monitoring integration processes on Cloud Platforms like Azure or AWS. The Lead Software Engineer will maintain the system throughout its lifecycle and provide business solutions through the development of complex software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts independent and intricate technical and functional analyses for projects that support corporate goals.
- Creates technical solutions for new and ongoing development initiatives.
- Designs and develops APIs, applications, or subsystems for significant projects across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Facilitates and participates in all testing phases leading to implementation.
- Assists in planning and executing user acceptance testing.
- Produces comprehensive documentation for applications that support corporate objectives.
- Handles post-installation application support and maintenance.
- Mentors junior team members to foster their development.
- Engages in complex assignments and multiple project phases.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field, along with three (3) years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer (or a closely related role) developing and maintaining scalable healthcare recordkeeping solutions using RESTful applications in a financial services context.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in the aforementioned fields and one (1) year of experience as a Lead Software Engineer (or a closely related role) in the same context is acceptable.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
The candidate must possess:
- Demonstrated experience in writing and deploying RESTful applications to the Cloud using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot framework, Kafka, or Azure Cloud.
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) in a Quality Assurance production environment using Java or Azure Cloud technologies.
- Experience in building and deploying applications in both internal and external Cloud environments utilizing Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Azure DevOps, or CI/CD practices.
- Ability to break down tasks, write technical stories based on requirements, and optimize resource utilization in an Agile setting, using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Mural, Draw.IO, or MS Office applications.
