The Team
The Health Care Technology Group is dedicated to managing and overseeing health benefits recordkeeping and administration, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for corporate clients, their employees, and retirees. The technology professionals within the HCG Platform team collaborate with both business and systems partners responsible for client-facing channels. This role is situated in a dynamic environment with a team size exceeding 300 members across IT and Product, employing Agile methodologies to drive results.
Role Responsibilities
As a pivotal member of the HCG development team, you will take on a senior leadership role, contributing to the technical direction and expertise within the group. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Mentoring the development team, emphasizing robust development methodologies.
2. Leading the establishment of project development policies, procedures, and standards.
3. Enhancing the productivity and quality of the overall development process.
Required Expertise
1. Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
2. Over 15 years of development experience, with 5-8 years in a senior technical leadership role.
3. Proven experience in talent management, including team leadership and development.
4. Preferred experience in Agile leadership.
5. Strong understanding of REST concepts and experience in developing REST APIs using Spring Boot.
6. Proficient in Java 8 features, including lambda expressions, streams, and functional interfaces, along with Spring modules.
7. Advocacy for best practices in engineering excellence, including CI/CD, design reviews, and unit testing.
8. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence product teams for scalable solutions.
9. Extensive experience in application design for complex business domains and familiarity with various enterprise technologies.
10. Knowledge of cloud technologies and practices.
