Position Overview: Persistent Systems is seeking a Senior Vice President of Army Business Strategy to enhance our presence in the U.S. Army sector. This role will focus on devising and implementing strategic initiatives aimed at expanding Persistent Systems' footprint within the Army market. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in defining customer requirements, managing high-value accounts, and ensuring our offerings align with client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute strategies to boost market share and revenue within the Army sector.
  • Identify and influence requirements for various Army-related programs and initiatives.
  • Discover and engage potential new clients and projects.
  • Oversee and nurture existing government and integration partnerships.
  • Utilize company resources effectively for program development and capture.
  • Collaborate with Bid and Proposal Teams to create a cohesive business development approach.
  • Support decision-making processes regarding bids and resource allocation.
  • Establish partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), defense contractors, and prime integrators focused on the Army market.
  • Manage key accounts and programs to optimize future business opportunities.
  • Prepare business proposals, lead negotiations, and drive business acquisition efforts.
  • Identify industry events that present opportunities for engagement and requirement shaping.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to ensure effective communication and resource utilization.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years in Sales/Business Development, particularly with U.S. Army programs and related sectors.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships across government and defense contractor domains.
  • Experience in senior-level sales roles within the defense industry, capable of engaging in high-level discussions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing winning Bid and Proposal strategies.
  • Ability to coordinate and leverage various support functions, including Sales Engineers and Program Managers.
  • Strong understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) and IP networking principles.
  • Familiarity with systems and sensors relevant to U.S. Army initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Possession of a United States Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business or a related field.
  • DAWIA certifications from DAU.
  • In-depth knowledge of the requirements shaping and procurement processes within the U.S. Army, particularly regarding Army C5ISR and Network CFT.
  • Prior experience working with Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG).
  • Over 10 years of experience in Sales/Business Development with a proven track record of revenue growth.

Compensation: The total compensation for this role ranges from $200,000 to $240,000 annually, based on individual qualifications. Eligible for a sales incentive compensation plan.
