Position Summary
The role of the Unit Lead is pivotal in shaping and executing our business and product strategies amidst rapid technological advancements and societal changes. This position is responsible for steering the Sustainability & Business Development unit towards exploring new business models and opportunities that align with Honda's vision for renewable energy and resource circulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development: Identify and evaluate emerging markets and business opportunities. Formulate hypotheses and pursue these through agile proof-of-concept activities, fostering a culture of rapid learning and innovation.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and nurture strategic alliances with industry partners and other entities to expedite business hypothesis realization with minimal investment.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee personnel management, ensuring long-term growth and development while balancing work-life dynamics and performance evaluations.
  • Resource Allocation: Assess and manage labor and financial resources effectively to achieve organizational objectives, including recruitment and job description development.
  • Communication: Maintain transparent communication with team members and management regarding progress and strategic direction, while disseminating relevant company news.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Direct activities across related teams to achieve unified goals within Honda's North American operations.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on financial metrics pertinent to the unit's performance.

Qualifications
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: 7-10 years in business development is essential, with a preference for experience in financial modeling, contract negotiation, and project management.
