The IT Business Systems Consultant plays a crucial role in the strategic planning, design, and enhancement of software applications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with project leaders and business stakeholders to define project scope, vision, objectives, and anticipated benefits.
  • Conducting comprehensive interviews to gather user requirements, use cases, and scenarios, ensuring thorough analysis for completeness and clarity. Collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize these requirements and, where applicable, developing prototypes based on user feedback.
  • Facilitating peer reviews of business requirements to confirm accurate interpretation and documentation.
  • Translating user requirements into clear functional specifications for developers and project teams, creating detailed process models, diagrams, and charts to guide development efforts.
  • Reviewing existing applications and documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of current systems.
  • Creating system specifications and documentation to direct system developers, assessing the impact of changes on existing processes.
  • Coordinating and executing thorough testing, including end-user reviews, for both modified and new systems, and providing necessary training to users.
  • Assisting the technical team in resolving system-related challenges.
  • Overseeing testing processes, validating performance, and ensuring ongoing support until stability is achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT business analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing business and technical requirements for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Proficient in creating clear and systematic requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly formats.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices and providing technical support throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Active participation in business meetings to analyze issues and provide user support, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and update technical design specifications, diagrams, and deployment plans.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and the implementation of systems across various platforms.
  • Strong capability to assess the corporate impact of changes and recommend strategies to management.
  • Excellent grasp of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on interpersonal interactions.
  • Detail-oriented, logical, and efficient in approach.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
