Digital Advertising Operations Manager

Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of digital advertising, including campaign management, reporting, and yield optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ad tech and ad ops, with experience managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Traffic and report on digital campaigns, including scheduling, QA, delivery, fill, revenue reporting, and analysis.
  • Troubleshoot advertising delivery issues, including pacing, lack of delivery, and ad rendering.
  • Manage inventory, using historical delivery data and current season deliverables to forecast expected impression loads.
  • Work closely with the Director of Tech Ops to develop strategies that ensure best outcomes and performance for the platform, campaigns, and team members.
  • Lead a team of digital operations traffickers, providing direction, problem-solving support, coaching, and development guidance.
  • Train the team in techniques and strategies that ensure accurate results, consistent support, and a positive experience for clients.
  • Promote process improvement and set relevant policies for the team, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to drive efficiency for the business.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and purpose, tying team activities to overarching business goals and strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering leadership to support the creation of new ad products and product roadmap/strategy.
  • Provide timely reporting and data insights to maximize business intelligence and capabilities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in managing, trafficking, and planning digital media.
  • Proficiency in basic HTML, data structures, JavaScript, HTTP requests, and advanced MS and Excel skills.
  • Deep knowledge of publisher-side ad serving (DFP/GAM) and SSAI.
  • Experience across all digital IAB ad formats, including video and display.
  • Thorough knowledge of analytics platforms (GA360, Adobe Analytics, Looker Studio).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, handling multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical mindset and process-oriented approach to help make ad ops pieces fit in the larger puzzle across all networks and teams.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and be available or respond to communication after-hours as needed.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to craft and deliver a cohesive and compelling story.
  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills and knowledge of testing methodologies.
