Job OverviewThe Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the organization's financial planning and analysis activities, working closely with the Senior Manager, FP&A.
This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, gathering and analyzing financial data, and providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with budgeting and forecasting functions, analyze operating results, and work with other departments to provide ongoing financial support and analysis.
Additionally, this role will involve standardizing departmental processes and financial modeling templates, as well as implementing finance software.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties- Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Partner with departmental heads to understand and analyze their financial plans, educating them on the FP&A and budgeting process.
- Collaborate with leadership and the financial department to foster knowledge sharing and implement continuous improvement practices.
- Work with the Senior Manager, FP&A, to standardize financial reporting templates.
- Consolidate financial and operational data from various sources, creating comprehensive reports to support management in decision-making processes.
- Maintain financial models and forecasts to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis, identifying trends and key drivers impacting financial performance, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Assist in preparing presentations and materials for executive management and board meetings, providing clear and concise explanations of financial results and key insights.
- Develop, document, and maintain function standard work processes and procedures.
- Assist in implementing enterprise and other software systems related to the finance function.
- Support internal SOX audit and external audit requests.
- Coordinate ad-hoc analytics based on business needs.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of relevant financial planning and analysis experience in the life sciences
- Advanced Excel skills, including managing large data sets, creating and maintaining financial models, macros, pivot tables, and Vlookup.
- Experience using an ERP system, such as Netsuite, at an expert level.
- Experience working with Financial Planning software.
- Experience presenting to executives and department leads.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial issues and communicate them in a clear and concise manner.
