What does this position entail?

Our Field Sales Consultants are essential at Terminix, collaborating with homeowners to ensure they receive the appropriate products and services to safeguard their properties from Termites and other pests.

A typical day in this role includes:

Armed with a company vehicle and top-notch industry training, our Sales Consultants engage with both new and existing clients in the communities served by Terminix. Sales meetings are generally pre-scheduled with clients who have already indicated a need, providing a head start in the sales process. Your visit typically begins with a thorough inspection of the property to identify the issue (which may involve accessing attics and crawlspaces) and is followed by presenting a tailored Service Plan to the client.

Here are some key responsibilities you would undertake daily:

Documenting property descriptions and accurately measuring inspected areas Estimating project costs and formulating Service Plan recommendations Preparing relevant specifications and treatment instructions for the agreed-upon Service Plan Following up with clients post-service to ensure satisfaction and identify additional prospects Actively seeking and developing new sales leads Continuously enhancing product knowledge and refining sales techniques

What qualifications are essential for success?

A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are mandatory 6 to 12 months of sales experience or prior sales training is preferred, but not essential A strong motivation, robust work ethic, and enjoyment of the sales process are vital Ability to easily build rapport and establish trust, fostering lasting client relationships Strong communication skills – both verbal and written, as well as presentation skills Capability to effectively present information to clients individually and in small groups A good aptitude for basic mathematics is necessary for performing calculations related to the sales process Given the nature of this role, comfort working outdoors and in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics is required For safety reasons, our Field Sales Professionals must not have facial hair, as rebreathers must seal to the face
