Role Responsibilities

As a Field Sales Consultant at Terminix, you will play a crucial role in assisting homeowners in selecting the appropriate products and services to shield their properties from termites and other pests.

A Typical Day in This Role

Equipped with a company vehicle and comprehensive industry training, our Sales Consultants engage with both new and existing clients in the communities we serve. Sales meetings are usually pre-scheduled with clients who have expressed interest, providing a solid foundation for the sales process. Your visit will typically commence with an inspection of the property to identify any issues, which may involve accessing attics and crawlspaces, followed by presenting a tailored Service Plan to the client.

Daily tasks include:

  • Documenting property details and accurately measuring inspected areas
  • Estimating project costs and formulating Service Plan proposals
  • Preparing specifications and treatment instructions for the agreed-upon Service Plan
  • Following up with clients post-service to ensure satisfaction and identify further opportunities
  • Prospecting and generating new sales leads
  • Continuously enhancing product knowledge and refining sales techniques

Qualifications for Success

  • A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are essential
  • 6 to 12 months of sales experience or prior sales training is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong motivation, a solid work ethic, and a passion for sales are key
  • Ability to easily build rapport and establish trust, fostering lasting customer relationships
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
  • Capability to effectively present information to clients individually and in small groups
  • Basic math skills are necessary for calculations related to the sales process
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces
  • For safety reasons, our Field Sales Consultants must be clean-shaven to ensure proper sealing of rebreathers
