Position Overview:
The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in acquiring intricate components while ensuring effective communication with a diverse range of suppliers. This position collaborates cross-functionally within the organization to address component-related issues, cost management, invoicing inquiries, new material requirements, and inspection processes. The Senior Procurement Specialist is also tasked with enhancing supplier on-time delivery and seeking continuous improvement in inventory turnover and cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement standard procurement processes and strategies, including the optimization of procure-to-pay workflows.
  • Support strategic initiatives regarding supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management, and procurement transactions.
  • Oversee supplier on-time delivery (OTD) performance, maintain data integrity within systems, and evaluate performance based on key indicators.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Strategic Sourcing team to identify key suppliers that align with business and corporate objectives.
  • Propose cost-saving strategies, including make-versus-buy analyses, alternative sourcing options, and vendor evaluation criteria.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels using the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) methodology.
  • Proactively identify and address issues that may hinder material deliveries.
  • Coordinate engineering change order (ECO) activities with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Manage requisitions for major purchased items and ensure timely processing of parts sourced externally.
  • Foster strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving techniques to address challenges within the scope of responsibility.
  • Act as a super user for SAP within the functional area.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or 5 years of experience in Supply Chain within a similar environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or related roles within a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, contract negotiation, and project management.
  • Excellent project management and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle).
  • Certification from the Association for Operations Management (APICS).
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) credential.
  • Prior experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and use hands for various tasks. The role involves standing and walking regularly, with occasional requirements to stoop, bend, or reach overhead. The employee may need to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. The position also involves frequent computer-based work, necessitating periods of sitting and close vision. Occasional travel may be required.
