About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will investigate problems, independently initiate effective measures for their solution, and coordinate activities with related groups to achieve objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of ABB MV VFDs
- Investigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution
- Coordinate activities with related groups to achieve objectives and ensure customer satisfaction
- Participate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs
- Carry out preparatory work regarding spare parts, testing of tools and equipment, and documentation as required
- Submit completed, detailed, and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follow up when needed
- Coches and provides technical guidance to fellow colleagues, departments, and customers
- Communicate effectively and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program and minimum 8 years of experience in installing, testing, repairing, or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, experience with MV Drives, knowledge of power electronics, motors, transformers, switch gears, and computer network communication protocol and theory of operation preferred.
