Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commodity Procurement Specialist to lead our BWP North America Electrical Commodity strategy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating value for our supplier spend and developing structured relationships with key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a systematic approach to major product categories for electrical commodity leadership.
  • Drive cost reduction and maintain cost control.
  • Right-size our supply base, maximizing supplier spend with preferred suppliers.
  • Deliver productivity and conduct/updating key supplier assessments.
  • Ensure supplier performance meets quality and delivery objectives.
  • Evaluate and maintain supplier performance metrics and accountability.
  • Create sourcing plans and strategies.
  • Develop supplier relationships creating value for our current and future product needs.
  • Own sourcing strategy/risk management vs. spend.
  • Create and negotiate key supplier contracts.
  • Capable of simplifying complex problems, processes, or projects into component parts, exploring and evaluating them systematically.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to deliver joint supply chain improvement activities.
  • Prepare/approve specifications for all purchases, supplier selection for bids, and analysis of quotations for all major purchases.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure necessary materials and services from suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective packaging of products.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Support policies and procedures providing an efficient and effective purchasing operation.
  • Support parts flow results/own elevated supplier issues and relationships to support product availability and flow to the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant professional qualification.
  • 5+ years of relevant purchasing and Supply Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading the electrical commodity space.
