A proficient Telecommunications Construction Lead will oversee one or more underground telecommunication construction teams, ensuring that the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of telecommunications equipment is executed safely, promptly, and accurately.

This role necessitates a solid understanding of telecommunications construction, familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines/poles, and various telecommunications construction tools, along with their functionalities. Candidates should possess the ability to utilize cable placement equipment and tools effectively, as well as identify and troubleshoot issues.

To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate, through training or experience, the following abilities:

  • Capability to work safely, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Skill in coordinating the activities of others.
  • Ability to maintain a standing position, working at shoulder height and overhead for extended durations.
  • Capacity to lift and manage lasher and other cable placement tools.
  • Proficiency in working at heights, utilizing ladders, aerial lift devices, or gaffing techniques.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with company personnel, customers, and contractors to ensure task completion.
  • Understanding of how to operate equipment, including aerial lift devices, lashers, and hand tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership to team members within an assigned area, department, or project.
  • Review tasks and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Implement and uphold processes to facilitate task completion in support of the assigned area, department, or project.
  • Engage with employees, contractors, vendors, and customers to assist in project execution.

Compensation:

As per regulations, the pay range for this position, if performed in Colorado, is $60,000 - $65,000 annually.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field or 3 years of related work experience.
  • Prior supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and motor vehicle record checks.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, candidates must be able to sit for extended periods while performing repetitive and/or fine hand movements for computer-related tasks and other office functions.

Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation, as well as in rugged terrains such as back easements and active construction sites. Noise levels may vary from moderate to loud.
