The Opportunity

Within the Commercial Services Group, the Senior Credit Underwriter will play a pivotal role in conducting financial assessments and due diligence for credit line extensions to both existing and potential business clients. This role demands expertise in performing thorough analyses, including forecasting, cash flow evaluations, and credit investigations, while utilizing proprietary risk assessment tools. The Underwriter will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining communication with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed financial evaluations on businesses across various sectors, leveraging financial statements and supplementary documentation.
  • Draft comprehensive proposals that summarize findings, highlight credit risks, and recommend actions for credit extensions.
  • Review ownership, licensing, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to established guidelines.
  • Engage with company representatives, automotive dealership personnel, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Update internal records and risk assessment systems with data collected during the underwriting process.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide mentorship and training to interns and new hires.
  • Contribute to special projects aimed at process improvement and enhancement of training materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of four years in commercial credit underwriting or related commercial auto lending experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dealership and wholesale operations is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is required.
