Administrative Manager

The Dynamic Compression Sector (DCS) at Washington State University is seeking an experienced Administrative Manager to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support to our team, including budget tracking, financial reporting, recruitment, onboarding, and implementing policies and procedures related to personnel management and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to the DCS Manager and team members
- Manage budgets and financial reports
- Recruit and onboard new staff members
- Implement and supervise policies and procedures related to personnel management and project management
- Supervise and oversee personnel and external relations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated experience in project planning and multitasking
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated experience managing people in a complex and changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies
- Demonstrated capability to exercise good judgment and analytical thought processes
- Experience with grant and contract administration
- Experience working in a scientific/technical environment
The DCS is a national user facility with a focus on understanding the dynamic compression and deformation response of materials under extreme conditions.
