Amazon Asset Protection Site Supervisor - Hagerstown, Maryland
The Asset Protection Site Supervisor (APSS) is a pivotal leadership role within the Amazon Asset Protection Team.
The APSS spearheads the initiative to deliver security services and safeguard assets (including personnel, facilities, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property) within a specified area of responsibility.
This role emphasizes root cause analysis and the capacity to implement change, promoting an atmosphere of inclusion and diversity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhance, monitor, and report on critical performance metrics to achieve targeted outcomes.
2. Employ continuous improvement methodologies to drive process enhancements and boost efficiency.
3. Engage, mentor, train, and influence business partners on asset protection practices.
4. Assist in investigations related to internal and external theft and fraud.
5. Identify inventory discrepancies and develop strategic plans to reduce losses.
6. Inspire excellence in performance among security services team members and vendors.
7. Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-caliber candidates.
8. Effectively plan and manage incident response.
9. Address loss prevention and physical security considerations.
10. Travel up to 25% domestically.
11. Operate in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
12. Walk up to 5 miles daily and lift up to 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
A Day in the Life:
This role may be focused on a single large facility or span multiple sites supporting various locations.
The Asset Protection Site Supervisor conducts investigations into theft and fraud, implements security best practices, and recruits personnel for the security services team.
This position serves as a subject matter expert in physical security and inventory management.About the Team:
Global Security Operations (GSO) supports field Asset Protection and is designed to maintain a secure work environment through global security centers of excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
2. 2+ years of experience in law enforcement, asset protection, risk management, or a related field.
3. 2+ years of data collection experience with root cause analysis.
4. 2+ years of experience in people management.
5. 1+ years of experience with MS Office, including Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with Lean Six Sigma concepts and certification.
2. Familiarity with databases such as SQL, MYSQL, Access.
3. Experience with security equipment and various business types.
4. Interviewing and interrogation experience.
5. Workplace violence and/or business continuity experience.
