Position Overview

This is a full-time, commission-based role within the financial services sector.

The primary responsibility is to collaborate with clients and potential clients to help them identify and secure a mortgage solution tailored to their unique financial situations, ultimately facilitating their journey towards home ownership. This role involves leveraging internal leads while also developing external sources to drive mortgage loan origination. A significant portion of the role will focus on nurturing relationships and soliciting first mortgages through interactions with real estate agents, builders, accountants, attorneys, financial consultants, and other referral partners to secure mortgage loan applications.

Key Responsibilities

Cultivates and enhances referral networks to solicit first mortgages, ensuring a steady stream of origination volume. Engages regularly with real estate agents in their offices and at open house events. Meets with builders on-site to discuss lending options for their clients. Actively seeks opportunities to connect with developers and participates in real estate trade shows and networking events to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones. Maintains consistent communication with key influencers such as attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors. Gathers and evaluates applicants' financial information at one of the organization’s branch locations to assess eligibility for specific loans. Conducts interviews with applicants to collect necessary details, including income, assets, debts, credit history, and property characteristics. Identifies customer needs in relation to their financial situation and evaluates these needs against available financial products. Provides recommendations for financial products that best suit the customer's requirements, clearly explaining the risks and benefits of various loan options. Engages in persuasive sales activities tailored to individual customers to encourage them to utilize the services of the company while cross-promoting additional financial products to external referral sources. Manages all aspects of the loans originated, including obtaining and analyzing relevant financial and credit data. Monitors current loans to ensure compliance with terms and maintains communication with customers and prospective clients through phone and email. Completes all necessary documentation related to originated loans and prepares supporting materials for loan activities. Attends necessary company meetings and ensures that all loan originations adhere to regulatory compliance standards.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

A minimum of 4 years of experience in residential mortgage lending is required.

Proven track record of establishing and maintaining referral sources outside of branch referrals, ensuring a continuous flow of loan originations for at least 4 years.

Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain significant referral networks through professional relationships for a minimum of 4 years.

Additional Responsibilities

This position may involve other duties as assigned by management. Every employee is responsible for understanding and adhering to all company compliance programs, regulations, and policies, ensuring that all compliance training is completed by the designated deadlines. This includes recognizing compliance risks and escalating them to the appropriate management level.

Compensation Structure

This role operates on a fully commissioned basis.
