Position: Security Officer

The Security Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors against potential criminal threats. This position is also tasked with implementing security protocols for the staff at DCM Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols and monitor activities on company premises to deter criminal behavior and maintain a secure environment.
  • Report any suspicious activities to the General Manager and ensure timely communication with relevant personnel.
  • Maintain constant communication with the General Manager and fellow security officers, responding promptly to emergency situations.
  • Assist in escorting vendors and visitors entering the facility.
  • Support fire and police officials during safety drills and emergency scenarios.
  • Monitor CCTV systems for any unusual activities throughout the premises.
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily operations and incidents for management review.
  • Contact law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
  • Perform security checks on doors, windows, and gates after business hours to ensure the property remains secure.
  • Investigate reports of suspicious behavior on the premises.
  • Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives, if necessary.
  • Escort discharged employees, trespassers, and other unauthorized individuals off the property.
  • Act as a backup delivery driver when required.

Additional Duties:

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age for legal compliance.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant security experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Security Guard training certification is advantageous.

  • Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong personal accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent observational skills and quick response capabilities.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to assert authority when needed.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to learn the layout of the property and buildings.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
  • Capability to detain individuals if necessary and monitor surveillance equipment for extended periods.
