Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our sales floor at one of our Retail Store locations in Prescott, Arizona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive store environment.

  • Estimated Salary: $45,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and Executes Retail Operations Plan: Develop and execute a retail operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
  2. Monitors Product Levels: Monitor product levels (floor work, as-is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock) daily to achieve bottom line sales budget against targets.
  3. Ensures Payroll Costs and Operating Costs: Ensure payroll costs and operating costs are managed to budget.
  4. Delivers Excellent Customer Service: Ensure Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
  5. De-Escalates Customer Situations: Work to de-escalate customer situations while finding an appropriate solution.
  6. Maintains Store Environment: Ensure store locations are clean, well-kept, and reflect the Goodwill brand appropriately.
  7. Promotes Goodwill Mission: Partners with community businesses and organizations to promote Goodwill mission.
  8. Serves as Goodwill Ambassador: Serves as a Goodwill ambassador to the community.
  9. Leads Day-to-Day Operations: Leads the day-to-day operations of the sales floor.
  10. Trains and Develops Team Members: Ensures that Retail Store Associates and Customer Service Manager are well-trained and fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
  11. Acts as Key Holder: Acts as a key holder for the store, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager.
  12. Processes Complex Sales Transactions: Processes complex sales transactions, including customer returns.
  13. Evaluates Team Performance: Ensures that Team Members are operating per company standards and procedures.
  14. Travel and Adaptability: Will need to travel to other GCNA locations in order to assist other stores and to attend personal training and development classes.
  15. Adaptability: Transfers to different stores at any given moment due to business needs.
  16. Collaborates with Support Areas: Partners with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  17. Built High-Performing Team: Builds a high-performing team.
  18. Performance Management: Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.
  19. Drive Company Culture Change: Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.

  21. Other Related Duties: Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Work Experience: One-year work experience in Retail Management required
  • Customer Service Experience: One-year customer service experience required
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Background Check and Drug Screen: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
  • English Language Proficiency: Ability to speak and read English proficiently
