Job Overview

We are seeking a Night Shift Human Resources Supervisor to join our team.

Position Summary

This role involves overseeing the human resources clerks and timekeepers during the second shift. The supervisor will serve as a key communication link between employees and management regarding human resource matters. The position also requires ensuring adherence to company policies as well as local, state, and federal employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide essential data support for payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data entry.
  • Address employee inquiries, complaints, and issues with professionalism and promptness, offering guidance to both employees and managers on job-related concerns.
  • Support initiatives aimed at continuous improvement by documenting current processes and leading efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in managing benefits programs and communicate relevant information to employees.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of human resource operational plans, policies, and procedures, recommending enhancements as necessary.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts, including screening, interviewing, and conducting reference and background checks for potential hires.
  • Help manage the workers' compensation return-to-work program, including investigations and claims reporting, while promoting safety initiatives.
  • Conduct new employee orientations, ensuring that all associates are well-informed about human resource policies and programs.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of records, reports, and other documentation.
  • Lead initiatives to foster positive employee relations.
  • Support the performance evaluation process.
  • Facilitate career development and training programs for supervisory roles.
  • Provide leadership on various HR-related projects as required.
  • Stay updated on developments in human resources and related legal requirements.
  • Supervise the activities of hourly HR staff during the second shift.
  • Represent the company in community relations and other relevant activities.
  • Participate in internal committees and project groups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Cross-Training:

Be prepared to perform some responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager, Clerk, and Timekeepers as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is advantageous but not mandatory.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a human resources generalist role. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. PHR certification is a plus.

Working Conditions:

This position typically involves standard office conditions, with some exposure to the plant environment during specific tasks. The role may require extended hours during peak operational periods.
