The Role
The Mobile Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing the execution of construction projects from inception to completion. This role entails overseeing subcontractors and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, to specifications, and within budgetary constraints. The supervisor will advocate for and implement the company's safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety among all personnel involved.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction sector with a focus on commercial or industrial projects.
- Proven experience in managing multiple trades and a diverse workforce.
- Experience with large-scale civil projects and complex infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, or DOT contracts and specifications is advantageous.
- Strong resource management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated capabilities to:
- Comprehend structural designs and specifications, including the ability to interpret blueprints and related documents.
- Adapt to rapid changes in a dynamic work environment.
- Work independently, solve problems, and lead teams effectively.
- Identify and assess the skills of various tradespeople.
- Uphold integrity in alignment with Bilfinger's core values.
- Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and professional information dissemination.
- Stay current with evolving technologies and methodologies relevant to construction.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Project Oversight: Collaborate with project management to define project scope and execution strategies; lead the project team through various construction activities, including specialized foundations, concrete work, and utility installations; coordinate logistics for project sites and resources; maintain detailed project reports and communicate progress to stakeholders; ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements; manage project closeout processes; develop and enforce safety and work plans throughout the project lifecycle; conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and craft workers in accordance with Bilfinger's operational standards.
- Scheduling: Collaborate with project management to establish timelines and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain project momentum; prepare work assignments and monitor short-term progress through internal scheduling tools.
- Safety: Ensure adherence to Bilfinger's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and local regulations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- The role requires driving between project sites that may be geographically dispersed.
- Job functions will be performed in both office settings and active construction sites, which may present varying environmental conditions.
- Physical demands include:
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain and construction sites.
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively.
- Frequently use hands for various tasks.
- Occasionally perform physical activities such as climbing or balancing.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Vision capabilities must include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
