The Role

The Field Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the execution of construction projects from inception to completion. This role entails overseeing all subcontractors to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, with precision, and within budgetary constraints. The supervisor will actively promote and enforce the company's safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety among all employees, subcontractors, and project teams.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction sector with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple trades and a diverse workforce.
  • Experience with heavy civil and complex infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, or DOT contracts and specifications is a plus.
  • Strong capability to manage resources, including vendors and subcontractors, while prioritizing tasks to meet stringent deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Must exhibit a strong ability to:
    • Comprehend structural design and intent as it pertains to construction, including the ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and related documents.
    • Adapt to frequent changes in a dynamic work environment.
    • Work independently, solve problems, and lead teams effectively.
    • Identify and assess skilled and unskilled trade talents.
    • Uphold integrity consistent with Bilfinger's core values.
    • Collaborate effectively in a team setting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and professional presentation of information.
    • Embrace evolving technologies and systems relevant to construction, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, ProCore, and Adobe.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Collaborate with the Project Manager to review and contribute to the project scope; Lead the project team in executing various types of general contracting work, including specialty foundations, concrete, structures, and utilities; Coordinate logistics for the project site, including personnel and equipment; Maintain daily project reports to track progress; Ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations; Manage project closeout and punch-list completion; Foster ongoing communication with the project team; Develop and enforce project-specific safety and work plans.
  • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and craft workers in accordance with Bilfinger's established processes.
  • Scheduling: Collaborate with the Project Management team to outline project timelines and adjust schedules as necessary; Prepare work schedules and assignments; Monitor short-term progress through internal schedules; Ensure adherence to construction schedules and milestones.
  • Safety: Ensure compliance with Bilfinger's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines along with all local regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
This role requires frequent travel to support projects across various locations.
  • Responsible for traveling between project sites that may be located at significant distances from each other.
  • Job duties will be performed in an office environment as well as on construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • The physical demands for this position include:
    • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and surfaces.
    • Regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
    • Frequent use of hands for handling tasks.
    • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or reaching.
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
    • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $146,103.00
