Position Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing and executing the facility's strategic vision and mission, ensuring ongoing enhancement and alignment with corporate objectives.

The position encompasses maintaining a safe work environment for all employees, achieving production targets efficiently, and upholding stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations within the Retail department, ensuring that production targets and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Guarantee that all plant operations are conducted in a secure and regulated environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory standards, specifications, and policies.
  • Collaborate with production planning and materials management to optimize production schedules and enhance customer service.
  • Analyze production reports to verify that safety, quality, and cost efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Establish objectives for the Retail management team and monitor performance against these goals.
  • Develop action plans to address areas for improvement.
  • Promote management engagement, training, and development to maximize safety, manufacturing quality, and productivity.
  • Mentor and develop managers and supervisors, creating succession plans for key roles.
  • Work with Human Resources on recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director regarding safety, production, quality, and human resources matters.
  • Manage the overall operating budget in accordance with the current business strategy.
Additional Duties:
  • Facilitate participation in safety and human resources initiatives within the facility.
  • Engage in safety audits, accident investigations, and related safety meetings.
  • Participate in product quality assessments to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Oversee daily operations in the absence of the department manager.
  • Perform other necessary duties to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the food manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with USDA regulations and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of human resources principles and employment law.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including mainframe, network, and PC business software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Poultry, Animal or Food Science, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Typically requires five or more years of managerial experience in food processing.
