Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Collaboration:
Work alongside healthcare providers to evaluate, plan, and deliver outstanding patient care. Document clinical test results and communicate findings to physicians. Assist with both administrative and clinical tasks.

Administrative Duties:
  • Manage front desk operations, including answering calls and scheduling appointments.
  • Welcome patients, assist with registration, and provide necessary instructions.
  • Maintain and organize medical records with accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate hospital admissions and referrals as directed by the physician.
  • Process prescription requests with pharmacies.
  • Utilize appropriate medical terminology in communications.
  • Engage with pharmacies and insurance providers for prior authorizations.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards in all professional conduct.

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient interviews, documenting history and primary concerns.
  • Accurately measure and record vital signs.
  • Perform routine EKGs and document results appropriately.
  • Possess a strong understanding of medications, dosages, and prescribing guidelines.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments, understanding their purposes and potential side effects.
  • Provide respiratory therapies, such as nebulizer treatments.
  • Execute first aid procedures, including dressing changes and suture removals.
  • Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy as required.
  • Educate patients on office policies, medication management, and dietary needs.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including documentation and safety protocols.

Patient Care Accountability:
  • Ensure patients receive comprehensive information regarding their health and treatment plans.
  • Document all aspects of patient care for evaluation and planning purposes.
  • Track patient referrals through various departments.
  • Assist physicians with necessary documentation.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks on medications and report any discrepancies.

General Responsibilities:
  • Complete required health screenings and maintain annual testing.
  • Provide telephone support and follow up with patients as needed.
  • Support front office staff with scheduling and clerical tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in covering various medical offices as required.
  • Adhere to dress code and identification requirements at all times.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of three years of experience in a medical or physician office setting. Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and patient satisfaction is essential. Other qualifications will be considered based on a combination of education and experience.
