About the Position

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy to identify, qualify, and sell to new customers in a designated territory that includes all of Kentucky and Indiana. This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Pregis distributors to drive new business growth.
  • Manage and grow an established book of end-user business by fostering positive relationships, developing sales strategies, and forecasting sales performance.
  • Initiate and quote new items, coordinating with operations, customer service, and engineering to deliver competitive and effective quotes.
  • Establish accurate sales forecasts within the assigned territory to inform overall sales volume and profit planning. Regularly analyze market position, profitability, and competitive impact.
  • Manage administrative duties within the territory in a timely and accurate manner, acting with urgency at assigned accounts, supporting A/R, optimizing pricing and profitability, managing CRM, T&E, and other tasks.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in business or package engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of outside B2B sales experience.
  • Possess a proven track record of prospecting new accounts and new business.
  • Drive new business growth through existing distribution networks within established territories.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Highly effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • Capacity to prepare and present compelling sales materials.
  • Results-oriented, highly motivated to perform with minimal direct management.
  • High degree of personal and professional ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral.
  • Organized, effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Pregis products, applications, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic machine repairs.
  • Occasional heavy lifting required.
  • Travel requirements (up to 25%).
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
