Job Title: Railroad Business Development Manager

At SPRING, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Railroad Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for positioning our company as a trusted advisor and supplier to rail transit agencies and contractors, and identifying opportunities to gain a greater share of customer wallet.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote Company Track Infrastructure Products: Develop and execute strategies to promote our track infrastructure products in the Midwestern US and Canada.
  2. Maintain Customer Relationships: Foster strong relationships with existing customers, while developing new accounts and maintaining recurring sales of core products.
  3. Identify New Opportunities: Seek out new applications to grow sales of new products and expand our customer base.
  4. Travel and Communication: Travel as necessary to cover key accounts, and maintain regular communication with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  5. Collaboration and Training: Coordinate the training and/or installation of equipment into the field, utilizing technical support as required, and assist with sales training as needed.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on sales performance, and address customer complaints in a timely manner.
  7. Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date on competitive marketplace products and merchandizing practices, and communicate relevant sales leads to other Account Executives.
  8. Professionalism and Budgeting: Maintain a high standard of professionalism and honesty, and operate at or below budgeted expense allowances.

Requirements:

  • Three to ten years of experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite and experience with Dynamics or similar CRM software.
  • Customer contacts and awareness of rail transit industry.
  • Prior success in an account management or business development role.

Measure of Success:

  1. Adherence to opportunity and account management processes.
  2. Generation of leads and conversion rate.
  3. Number of interactions per account.
