Director of Marketing and Business Development

Job Summary:

Crosstown Concourse is seeking a seasoned marketing and business development professional to drive growth and revenue for our vibrant community hub. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans to increase foot traffic, foster business partnerships, and promote Crosstown Concourse as a cultural and commercial hub.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue goals and enhance brand visibility.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and government organizations to broaden our customer base and drive growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with small business owners and managers to understand their needs and develop targeted marketing strategies.
  • Drive digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email campaigns, and content marketing, to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Manage marketing-related staff and freelance support to ensure efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective strategies.
  • Oversee market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive activities, and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the Crosstown management team to align sales and marketing strategies with overall events and programming.
  • Manage the budget for sales and marketing initiatives and business development, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of sales and marketing campaigns, providing regular reports and insights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in leadership roles that demonstrate a high level of strategy in marketing, sales, and business development.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by small businesses, particularly in the restaurant and retail sectors.
  • Strong understanding of paid advertising and digital marketing tools/techniques, with a successful track record of driving digital campaigns.
  • Passion for Memphis and supporting local economies, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting diversity and inclusion within the business community.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in community engagement and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Memphis market dynamics and the local business landscape.
