Job Summary

Watershed Security, a Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cyber Security, with expertise in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform RMF Step 4 activities, ensuring the completion of programs, projects, or tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Ensure the quality of program, project, or task deliverables meets established standards or metrics.
  • Provide Cyber Security guidance and documentation throughout the system development life cycle.
  • Support the Program Manager, Security Control Assessor, Information System Security Manager, and Information System Security Engineer throughout all phases of the security authorization process.
  • Enable Cyber Security system designs that properly mitigate identified threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Review and approve test and evaluation activities to validate threats and vulnerabilities are mitigated.
  • Perform system security reviews and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes.
  • Conduct A&A process for IT systems and networks in accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework process.
  • Analyze and review the results of network and system vulnerability scans and validate the implementation of IA Controls in accordance with DoD.
  • Assist with development and tracking of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Support RMF Checkpoint meetings.
  • Assist with the System Categorization and Risk Assessment Report and consult on the System-Level Configuration Management (SLCM) Strategy.
  • Develop the Security Plan, Security Assessment Plan, Security Assessment Report, and Executive Summaries.
  • Provide hands-on training and assistance to site teams.
  • For special projects, serve as a system Information System Security Engineer and perform associated functions.
  • Report package status and risks weekly.
Requirements
  • Minimum SECRET clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or other related field, or 7 years Cyber Security experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' applied DoD Cyber Security, C&A, or A&A experience.
  • Final Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) designation.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II/III or IAM II baseline certification.
  • Applied RMF experience.
  • Knowledgeable in eMASS, Vulnerability Reporting and Analysis Module (VRAM), Automated Configuration Assurance System (ACAS), and Host-Based Security System (HBSS).
  • Ability to think independently with minimal oversight, as well as demonstrate exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Exemplary customer/client management skills and techniques.
  • For international travel, a passport is required.
  • Attending mandatory, annual training sessions.
  • Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Attending recurring team meetings or huddles.
  • Assisting in the development of new initiatives.
  • 3 days onsite in Norfolk, VA.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Navy Enterprise networks, such as NMCI and ONE-NET.
  • Familiarity with Navy IT sites, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of eMASSter, STIG Viewer, and Navy Step 4 SOPs.
