Position Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is expanding and seeks a seasoned professional for a pivotal role in our engineering division. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will work closely with our leadership team to enhance the Civil/Site Practice. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering relationships with both potential and current clients, driving the growth of our practice at local and regional levels.

In this role, you will navigate external stakeholder interactions within the regulatory landscape, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of technical excellence. You will take charge of crafting and evaluating proposals and project budgets, while also mentoring a dedicated team of engineers and project managers, overseeing the final quality control and assurance processes.



Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team through diverse civil engineering projects and business development efforts.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and professional growth of staff, including conducting annual performance reviews and setting development objectives.
  • Collaborating with senior management to tailor your career trajectory through various professional development and mentoring opportunities.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Possession of an Arizona Professional Engineering License (P.E.).
  • Established connections within the local professional community, including developers, architects, and regulatory agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in preparing engineering plans for permitting and construction, with a track record of securing project approvals from various regulatory bodies.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to cultivate lasting client relationships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical oversight and project management, including quality assessments of design elements such as site layouts and stormwater management.
  • Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and leading a diverse engineering team to deliver integrated client services.
