Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to our Minerals and Metals division in the Tucson office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost-efficient civil and site utility designs from initial concepts to detailed designs, tenders, and construction, adhering to local regulations and standards for mining and industrial projects.
- Conduct site assessments, inspections, and prepare reports, including functional and detailed designs for water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, grading, bulk earthworks, parking facilities, and roadways related to mining operations.
- Serve as the engineer of record or discipline lead when necessary, guiding and reviewing the work of drafting and engineering teams in the creation of designs, drawings, contract documents, engineering specifications, and cost estimates for civil projects.
- Oversee and mentor junior and mid-level civil engineers.
- Manage construction administration tasks, including report writing, specification preparation, and cost estimation.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers from various disciplines to ensure civil design activities are executed consistently, completing projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Assist in proposal development and business growth initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the United States, maintaining good standing.
- Over 15 years of experience primarily focused on civil infrastructure design for mining and heavy industrial projects, including bulk earthworks, roadways, storm sewer systems, stormwater management, and site utilities.
- Experience in municipal design is advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead and interact directly with design teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with construction and contract administration is beneficial.
- Proficient in Civil 3D software.
- Experience in consulting engineering is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork.
